As a traditional decorative art, mosaic involves forming a pattern or image by bringing together small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. Mosaics combine beauty with utility: a lasting surface that tells a story or entices the eye.
In mathematics, MOSAICs can be an opportunity to tell a story in a new, fresh way by bringing together materials — concepts, techniques, technology — that have previously been treated as separate and unrelated.
